Welcome to the Hepatitis C Forum on PTO.
This Forum was created to build a Hepatitis information resource for our growing membership. It started to become apparent that Hepatitis – Hep C in particular – was becoming a serious issue within the prison system. Men and women newly convicted and entering the prison system are bringing this disease into the system, and the system is proliferating the disease. Many Prisoners do not know they have the disease coming in, and many do not know that they are contracting it while inside.
This Forum is intended to be a place that you come for information and support. We are actively building statistical, reference, medical, alternative, news and support topics that will help anyone become more knowledgeable about Hepatitis. Please add any important information that you come across that you feel would benefit anyone on this site.
Although the focus of this Forum is Hepatitis C – please do not hesitate to post any information about Hep A, or Hep B as these are also a threat to all of us.
Please look at all the information contained here as a source of reference but not as a diagnosis, or as a treatment recommendation. The information contained in this forum comes from all areas of reference and it is recommended that you consult your physician if you suspect that you have Hep C or want to add to or change your treatment regime if you are positive with Hep C.
Within the prison community, very few states are currently actively testing Prisoners or treating them if they are infected with Hepatitis C. This forum is also intended to address these specific issues.
The Hep C Forum is Co-Moderated by: Menolly / Kconnor56 / Danielle / Tebkrg
All of us have personal experience with Hepatitis C and are here to assist and support you where possible. Please contact any of us if you have questions or concerns.
Please read what is here and actively post replies that you think will assist others.
