I received these 2 letters from an inmate within the Texas Dept. Of Criminal Justice, pleading for help. Please, if you are reading this write an e mail in his behalf to:

Letter dated Dec 10, 2002
I was diagnosed with Hep C back in 1999. I have been having pains in my liver area and itching all over my body. I've written sick call after sick call in the last year since I've been having these symptoms. Each time they tell me there is nothing wrong with me. Finally they referred me to general medicine at UTMB Galveston. It took me awhile before I went. I was sent to get an ultrasound done on my liver. Well all they did was examine me and schedule a date for the ultrasound, which is also awhile away from now. I am gradually getting newer symptoms. My hands and feet are starting to swell, along with pain in liver area and itching. They say they can't do anything here that It's all in the hands of UTMB. I write UTMB and request that they step up this ultrasound and they say they have no control over it, that it is up to medical on my unit. Both have been giving me the run-a-round and I have it all documented since Dec 2001. I am constantly miserable and I don't feel I have much longer to live. These people could have helped me awhile back and prolonged my death.I'd like something done about this. I want the right authorities to see how improper the medical staff is here.

Here is some more information. After I saw general surgery at John Sealy the Dr. told me it sounds like to her I might have cirrhosis of the liver. What I have read about cirrhosis is some of the symptoms I am experiencing, like spider blood vessels under the skin, itching all over and swelling in hands and feet. I've written the medical director Dr. Kenneth Boun here at Michael Unit 3 or 4 different long letters and he doesn't reply. I am bringing all this to your attention because if I die anytime soon because of there improper medical treatment I want it known what was done to me. I am miserable right now and am coming to you people for help. Please help me!

"Yes please do but most likely he is going to die as he has been tying to
get help since 1999 from tdc when he was told he had it and who knows
how long before that, it sounds from his symptoms like he in the end
stages but maybe with letters of protest they will do something for him
and relieve some of his suffering.
