Hi there,
My son is on death row (actually the AC) but condemned to death.
My family and I want to visit, it will be the first one at SQ.
What kinds of things do we need to be aware of and prepared for?
Is there an organization or group to refer to for help with lodging and transportation. We are traveling a great distance to do this.
Thanks for any and all info.
We want to be well prepared for this visit!!

lake2lake first let me welcome you to PTO. I have moved your question to our DR forum, so you can get the answers to your questions.
I don't have the answers, but I know we have a couple members who have loved ones at SQ and will be able to give you your answers when they see the thread.
Once again welcome to the PTO family.

lake2lake2, I also want to welcome you to the PTO. You will be so amazed at the help you will receive, the knowledge that is available and friendliness of everyone.
I couldn't believe it when I read your post as we have at least two things in common right off the git-go. First I also live in Washington and I am also planning my first trip to visit a friend on DR in SQ. You asked the exact same questions I have so I hope that someone will come along and answer them for the both of us real soon.
Good luck to you.

awww isnt that so sweet...
Visiting your son should not be that differcult if you always try to look at the bright side...
It would make your sons day if the whole family went out to visit...
After a couple of visits you will be known to the guards as regulars and your visit will be more enjoyable for everyone involved...
