My man is currently surving a 15 yr sentence on drug related charges and has 2 yrs actual time behind him, 3 yrs credited time. Anyway, he hasn't had any contact with anyone that he used to run around with leading to his current situation and now the feds are looking at slappin him with a connspiracy to manufacture charge. The lawyer fees that I've spoken to so far are outrageous ($75,000) to defend him, but they also say that it doesn't sound like the feds have a solid case on him. It seems a little unfair that after 3 years they can come back and do this to him just as he was about to make parole. If I don't get the lawyer he's looking at a mandatory 10 year min. for a charge that - if defended - could get thrown out. It's not fair!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi lil_tx_q_tee
My husband was first exonerated in California, then tried on the same charges in Federal. I wasn't with him then, but he actually described it as thrice jeapordy. I am not trying to scare you, but even with high powered lawyers he received a 33 year sentence. It had to do with "friends" testifying against him and him remaining silent. Does he have people from the past he feels may testify against him to free themselves? Check out FedCure for some help also. I know it is not fair. I hope and pray all turns out well for you. My husband is finally short, three years away now due to sentencing guidelines no longer in affect. I am visiting him this weekend, so I will ask him for you.
Take good care,
Kelli

P.S. Sometimes the times run "concurrent" that is important if he were sentenced. I pray he is not...
